WHO IS JUNIPER DREAM TRAVEL
Hi, my name is Dawn Gibbons, and I am a travel advisor and owner of Juniper Dream Travel, LLC. My husband Brian and I started Juniper Dream Travel because first and foremost we are travelers ourselves. We have spent our lives traveling and seeking out new ways to view the world. Whether it be working as flight attendants (Dawn for 10 years & Brian for 4), serving overseas in the military (we spent 5 years living in South Korea), or team truck driving for 2 years (no, really, we did), travel in all its forms has been an important part of our lives. Add to that our combined 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and you can see why we decided that maybe it was time to make travel our whole life rather than just a part of it. WHAT'S IN A NAME? DREAMS FULFILLED!
Juniper Dream isn't just the name of our travel agency, it is also the name of a dream fulfilled. From our earliest days together, our love of travel was the beacon that guided us and influenced every decision that we made, always driving us to see and experience more. But, we found that an untethered life, always looking ahead to the next adventure, left us dreaming of a place that would anchor us, a quite place we could always come home to and reflect on the wonders we had experienced as well as a place we could ponder adventures yet to come. In 2005 we took the first step towards that goal and purchased a 40 acre piece of paradise in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. Blanketed in Juniper trees at the end of little dirt road called Dream Lane, our little slice of heaven was a clean slate ready to build our dream on. It would be twelve long years of scrimping, saving, researching and planning, but in 2016 we broke ground on our remote off-grid home nestled in the Junipers. The challenges we faced may have sent others scampering back to the safety of the city, but we persisted. Living in an uninsulated prefab shed with a composting toilet, a wood stove, an outdoor shower, and little more, we spent 2 years building the dream that most people thought we were crazy for pursuing. By 2018 construction was complete and we moved into our solar powered, completely off-grid oasis and we named it Juniper Dream. In the wake of the worldwide Covid shutdown, which we were able to escape unscathed in our little corner of the world, we saw an opportunity to blend or love of travel into a new career. In 2022 we quit our day jobs and threw ourselves entirely into our new dream and started Juniper Dream Travel. Thanks to our incredible clients and their shared love of travel, we have been able to have great success and fulfill yet another dream.
